OK, first of all, lemme point out the obvious: This review just
reflects my own opinion. I can't speak for everyone, so I'm not even
gonna try to. ;) Secondly, don't expect to find anything terribly
insightful from it. ;) I might add some sound clips later, but I wanted
to get this up.
Individual Song Reviews:
1. "Trogdor" - I love the Trogdor e-mail. I think that Trogdor is top
of cool. I just really don't like this version of the song that much.
It sounds too "busy" to me. The comments in the middle are pretty
funny, though.
2. "The System is Down" - Oh, man, really dig this. The "dancing
robots" bit is a riot. And I like the way it ends.
3. "Strong Badia National Anthem" - Haha...how can you beat Strong Bad
singing with a first grade class? I bet that was a blast to record.
4. "Oh Yeah, Yeah" - This doesn't sound much like the version that was
on the web site. And in this case, that's not such a bad thing
since this version is pretty cool. It starts off a bit rough, but it
gets better. It's still a pointless song, though, but I
have to say that Missy Palmer has a great singing voice.
5. "Because, It's Midnite" - I <3 LIMOZEEN!!! OMG!!! LOLOLOL!!!
*ahem* Sorry. Anyway, hearing that song extended is pretty funny.
Just don't expect to find any really deep meaning in it. ;)
6. "Circles" - Wow. Strong Bad really likes that skinny blonde girl.
Sounds like he's stalking her. I wonder who she is.
7. "Let's Get Started On Doing All Those Awesome Things I Suggested" -
I'm a bit disappointed about how little the songs in the "Strong Bad
Sings" short were extended. The majority of this song is actually a
rather funny intro in which Strong Bad is talking to some girl. Yeah,
he tells her "You smell like apricots." And then he sings "Let's get
started!" and...that's it. What? :P (48 seconds)
8. "Moving Very Slowly" - Taranchula just isn't as top of cool as
Limozeen. No way.
9. "Sweet Cuppin Cakes Theme Song" - I kind of prefer the instrumental
version heard on the site. The words weren't really that funny. Well,
honestly, I have a tough time really understanding them. I was
glad
"Eh! Steve!" saved it in the end.
10. "I Think I Have a Chance With This Guy" - Haha....Teen Girl Squad
is funny. I liked this one a lot. It's just Whats Her Face rapping
random stuff but hearing Strong Bad talk like a girl just amuses me, so
I like it. I want more TGS songs.
11. "It's Like it Was Meant To Be" - Uh...what is up with this song? I
don't remember it even being mentioned before. The bit about "I'll
never stop joking...I mean, I will stop joking" is funny, though.
12. "Nite Mamas" - I have no idea what is with this song, but Limozeen
is still awesome. ;)
13. "Sensative to Bees" - Once again, I have to say that Missy Palmer
has a great singing voice. She makes this song sound good, even though
it's really stupid. Strong Bad's comments in the background are
what really make it great, though. "And I really, really think you're
making this up as you go along." And the part where Homestar shows up
at the end seriously startled me. I'm such a wimp. :P
14. "You've Got An Ugly & Stupid Butt" - This was my fave in the
"Strong Bad Sings" short. It's laugh out loud funny here,
but just like "Let's Get Started On Doing All Those Awesome Things I
Started," it's too darn short. And yes, I think more stuff could have
been added. ;) Or at least, that catchy part in the middle
could've been repeated more. (32 seconds)
15. "These Peoples Try to Fade Me" - Haha...Coach Z is so funny. This
song is so random, but Coach Z obviously thinks he's the coolest,
though. I mean, he's so old school, they tore the school down. (He said
that, not me.) He can freak and flow at the same time, too. And I
like his laser sound effects.
16. "The Ladies in My Town All Know My Name" - Once again, too short.
But, it's still really funny. That one girl has problems, yeah. (34
seconds)
17. "The Theme from Dangeresque II" - Very funny. It's so random, but
it's so dangeresque.
18. "Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them)" - Too short and the country
twang is kind of annoying. But, I think it sums up Strong Bad's entire
life philosophy. And yes, I think he has one. (47 seconds)
19. "The Cheat is Not Dead" - The chorus is nice. And I like the gospel
bit at the end 'cause it's funny. Where did that choir come from,
anyway?
20. "Everybody to the Limit" - Very funny. The thought of Strong Bad
giving a concert is a riot. And where ist Estarekjavik, anyway? Eh,
must be near Prance somewhere.
Bonus!!!
If you play the CD in your computer, there's a bonus Cheat
Quicktime music video of "These Peoples Try to Fade Me." I'm rather
partial to The Cheat's animation style just because it's so darn funny,
but I really think his Coach Z is a bit creepy sometimes. I dig the
laser crabs, though.

Over All Impression:
For what I promise is the last time, I'll say that I think the songs
that first
appeared in the "Strong Bad Sings" short were too short. Nontheless, I
think this was well worth the $12.
I hope there will be future CDs, featuring some of the other songs. I
know this is gonna sound nuts, but I want the "Everybody, Everybody"
song on a CD as well as the Homestar Runner theme song. And when in
the world is Pom-Pom gonna release his "Bubble Serenade," anyway?
